The Rolling Girls

The Wit Studio thought a coup, after the successful Shingeki no Kyojin adaptations, and had a go at completeing ist first original storied anime series. Its name already refers that we can get to know the adventures of four girls in the story in an other - strongly different than the modern- Japan. In the Rolling Girl's World ,10 years after the Great War of Tokyo, the prefectures turned into independent states, after the then political and economic leaders nebulized secretely. Naturally, the conflicts between the areas remained, but they developed a special method for solving the district's problem: every region has a congressman, he can fight but with other envoies. The supporters, the "mobs" ,line up around the agents, whom task is to maintain peace and order in their prefecture. One of these congressman gets a great injury during arranging of the arguments, so two of him mobs decide to sit into motor and try to help those who are originally waiting the help from their agents. Other two persons join in, and thanks to this, their purpose wieden: because one of them follows the footsteps of one of the heart-shaped jewelry, which can find only in particular congressmen's property.

The story of the anime thanks to Mutou Yasuyuki, who made also the plot of Sengoku Basara, and this is the second independent work of its director, after Gin no Saji. Shortly summarized:  totally common girls with not at all comon travel (and growing up) comes to life on the screen.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu

An enormous, yellow, smiling being blows up one part of the Moon from one day to another, so just the crescent moon remains. This dangerous being can move with the speed of 20 Mach, it can fence off anything with its over and over again growing tentacles, and knows, what will you do, before you realise that.Additionally it also threated all government in the World, that it will  do the same with the Earth as it did with the Moon in a year - except, if someone can kill him. Until that time, he asked for a class, whom it can teach, so it is now the headteacher of looser 3/E. Its specialized  curriculum is: bombing and assassination classes. And the clock is ticking. The concretely crazy manga, which is running since 2012, is surreal, funny and infinitely depressing. Although the first OVA wasn't persuasive at all- the basic idea is too crazy to walk around in 30 minutes-,now it is a great news that its 22-episode-long anime process started. It is important also for ,although for the first sight it is a wildly asurd story, we feel out of the lightly dosed anime the hidden intention of the author: that the background story of the students and the smiling Korosensei - who was vivified by Fukuyama Jun(Lelouch-Code Geass, Grell- Kuroshitsuji)-wants to claim something, and not just "travel" for the jokes. Why Korosensei choosed this class? Why does it want to destroy the World? And where comes it from, if once - in his own confession- it is an earthly being? For these questions we hopfully could get answers during the anime.

Death Parade

The most pleasnt surprise of the winter season is for nowadays faded Madhouse Studio's production, the psychological drama, called Death Parade. The conception of the anime appeared in 2013, on the Young Animator Training Project (shortly: Anime Mirai). This is one program, operating with the support of the japanese government, which helps developing the home and also to the starter animators. The forefather of the series was completed here as a 25-minute short film, called Death Billiards. The sory ia a magical character drama, where the dead souls are compete. Because before we would send them into the forever darkness or to rebirth, a special group exmine their personality, and judge them. It takes place in the Quindecim bar, where a bizarre barman invitates the souls to the game. During the game, when the opponents gathering points, they could live through terrible body pains, while they are evoking the most significant moments in their lives. At this time can we see their real personality, and if they lived their life as a bad or a good person. The game could be anything from billiard to darts, the to be judged souls firstly can be deceitfully innocent, but at the end an unpleasnt incident always turns out about them. In its thematically and episodical story it is similar to the "Hell Girl" (Jigoku Shoujo) and to the Mononoke animes, despite of its dark-themed opening this is the most funny performance of this year. Scenes matcing true ballroom dancing and cabaret are bewitch the searchful viewers. And what will be this story about? Hopefully it will be about confessing many crimes and the excitement of the character's diclosure. Its worth it to take a look for those who expects serious stories and nice animations.

Donten ni Warau

There is almost no season, where we don't find one-two anime with historical basic, although recently these are mainly centered around Nobunaga. With this line break up the Donten ni Warau, which plays in the Meiji-era's fourteenth year (1878), in that time, when samurai - because of the ban of the government - slowly started to dissapear from that society . Because there were many people,  to whom the sudden and large westernization didn't appeal, huge amount of crime started. The government hadn't got other choice, but open a prison, from escaping is impossible. Its main reason was that the new institution could only be approached in water and three boys of the Kumo family got the task to transfer the criminals into their "new home". In the adaption we can follow, what tasks does the job gave them, over and above what secrets are incubating in the background. In addition all this spiced with supernatural power and much bishi.

Karakara Kemuri experimented with several genres, than he ended up at shoujo style works, but he used the historical basics firstly only in his manga which started at 2011. In the situation of the adaptation the most of the stuff were could-say starter, because they either try out themselves on a new area, or they were contributed by only a few anime case. As producer with the Eureka Seven's cinema version debutating Haraguchi Hiroshi for example this is his second bigger job, but the quality result is garanteed by the long-historied Dougakoubou studio (11eyes, Natsuyuki Randevous).
